

All students participate in our End of Year Concert and students work on these routines each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.
In terms of attendance, it is very important that students do not miss any of their scheduled classes between now and concert time so they can spend their rehearsal time together to perform their routines, feel confident and look amazing. Of course, this is only if it can’t be helped and in line with studio guidelines. If for any reason your child will miss a number of their regular classes in Term 4, we ask that you contact Miss Steph via email to let us know in advance.

CONCERT MEMORABILIA
Our end of year concert will be filmed by a professional production company. All enrolled families will receive a copy of the preschool concert. The cost of this has been included in your concert fee offering great value.
As a result, no filming or photography will be permitted throughout the show so sit back, relax and let your child see your smiling face - not a screen!
The Production company have communicated to us that concert videos should be emailed out by Mid January.

WHAT TO WEAR
FULL READY SET DANCE UNIFORM
All preschool students will arrive and participate in our finale in their FULL Ready Set Dance uniform with Tan convertible stockings on.
If your child is in Ready Set Dance please have them in their Jazz shoes upon arrival.
If your child is in Ready Set Ballet only please have them in their Ballet shoes upon arrival.
If your child is in Ready Set Acro only please have them in plain sneakers upon arrival.
Please arrive in the correct footwear as listed above to ensure your child's safety. There are strictly to be no other shoes.
SHOES & STOCKINGS
To make costume changes seamless for our preschoolers we will have all preschoolers in Tan convertible stockings.

All Ready Set Acro classes- No shoes - please see above for arrival footwear if your child is ONLY in Ready Set Acro

UNDERWEAR
Please make sure your child is wearing flesh coloured underwear.
HAIR
Preschoolers will have their hair Half up and Half Down (Click here to view example)
You will need to use a lot of hairspray/gel and a fine tooth comb to achieve the slick look and possibly multiple elastics. Please also use an elastic the same colour as their hair.
Please note, for boys neat and tidy hair is all that is required. No colours or crazy hairstyles please.
MAKEUP
No Make up is required for our preschool students.
JEWELLERY AND NAIL POLISH
No Jewellery is to be worn (including earrings), please leave all jewellery at home. Also, please remove all nail polish.
WHAT TO BRING
FOOD & DRINK
In line with venue rules there is to be NO food in dressing rooms. Eating time will be allocated for students to have in breaks. Please bring a labelled water bottle ONLY.
PACKING CHECKLIST
We ask that students bring all of their belongings in a clear plastic box or bag. Please write their names all over the box / bag and on everything that they bring, every year we have so many pairs of dance shoes and uniforms lost - clear names on belongings get these back to their owner!
Please use the following checklist:
Stockings and dance underwear - wear on arrival
Full Ready Set Dance uniform - wear on arrival
Dance Shoes - wear on arrival (if in multiple styles please have the other pair in your child's bag)
Hair brush, extra bobby pins, hair spray, elastics
Water, water and more water!!!
Healthy snacks - long lasting nourishing food is best!
DROP OFF
On concert day, all of the students will be staying backstage with us for the duration of their concert. Students need to have their hair done and stockings on before being dropped off and have Full Ready Set Dance uniform on.
Please drop off your child to the main doors of the Science theatre where they will meet one of our staff members.
To assist staff with smooth transitions and drop off we kindly ask that you are on time. No parents are permitted to enter the venue prior to doors opening for the event.
PRESCHOOLER ARRIVAL TIME: 10:15am
SECURITY & STUDENT SAFETY
To help with student organisation and safety, all students will be put into an allocated group by our staff.
As always, the safety of our dance family is our #1 priority. On concert day all students will be marked off by our staff in their designated areas. All backstage helpers are issued with security passes that are required to be worn at all times. Only Malabar Dance Crew staff and registered helpers are permitted backstage. We are unable to run messages or food to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage.
We do this to protect the students and create a fun and stress free environment for all. please respect this policy.
Malabar Dance Crew and UNSW take no responsibility if an item is damaged, misplaced, lost or stolen.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our supervisors when you sign in so they can take medications to our first aid desk.
STUDENT COLLECTION AFTER THE SHOW
All preschoolers will perform in our Finale on concert day. At the conclusion of Finale students will collect their belongings and return to the stage. Once you can see your child return to the stage with their belongings please join the line for collection.
Students will be seated in their groups which is organised by the day they dance.
ONE parent will walk up the stairs on the right of the stage (if facing the stage) to collect their child and then proceed down the left staircase (if facing the stage). We ask that the parent only joins the line once they see their child ready to keep the collection process smooth and efficient for all.
No students will be permitted to jump off the stage to you at any time. For student Safety, we ask you respect our collection procedures.
At Malabar Dance Crew we believe in keeping dance affordable for our families. This is why we hire out dance costumes. No students are to take their costume or any part of their costume home with them as these are owned, laundered and returned to storage by our staff.
The costumes we own are all high quality and are valued between $60-$150 per costume so this is fantastic value that we love providing our families.
