Our End of Year Concert will be held on Saturday 23rd November at 4:00pm.

All students participate in our End of Year Concert and students work on these routines each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.
In terms of attendance, it is very important that students do not miss any of their scheduled classes between now and concert time so they can spend their rehearsal time together to perform their routines, feel confident and look amazing. Of course, this is only if it can’t be helped and in line with studio guidelines. If for any reason your child will miss a number of their regular classes in Term 4, we ask that you contact Miss Steph via email to let us know in advance.
At Malabar Dance Crew we do not charge an added concert / production fee to be involved in this event as we believe all students should get a chance to shine on stage.
We hire out our costumes for the small fee of $15 per costume (1 costume per class) to ensure that we are keeping dance affordable for our families. The costumes we own are valued between $60-$150 per costume so this is fantastic value that we love providing our families.
Please note: As costumes are hired they MUST be returned at the end of the night for laundering and to return to storage.
CONCERT TSHIRT
All students can purchase a concert commemorative t-shirt via our online store. Orders for the T-shirts close on Sunday 3rd November. Unfortunately we are to accomodate late orders. All T-shirt sizing is true to size and cannot be exchanged or refunded.
CONCERT MEMORABILIA
VIDEOS
We engage the services of a Professional Videographer so there is strictly no filming or photography permitted throughout the production.
If you would like to have a copy of the night you can purchase a digital concert video via our online store.
All parents who purchase the digital concert video will receive a digital download of their dancers show from In the Spotlight Productions. All orders will be emailed once ready via Mediazilla.

REHEARSAL DAY
This year’s Full Studio Rehearsal is on SUNDAY 10th NOVEMBER and will once again be held at Soldiers’ Settlement School Hall (access from Lawson St).
For this rehearsal, students will be required to be in FULL UNIFORM with the correct shoes, stockings and neat hair as per class requirements.
We have staggered drop off and pick up times to ensure a smooth process. Please arrive on time for your drop off to avoid congestion. To ensure a smooth drop off and pick up we ask that parents access the school hall via ANZAC Parade end of Lawson st to keep traffic flow in one direction.
A reminder to not park in the driveways of local residents (car-pooling with other parents is also advised where possible).

Arrival / Pick up time: 9:30am
Pick up time : 10:30am
What to wear / bring
Full water bottle
All dance shoes (see "what to wear and bring" for more information)
DROP OFF & PICK UP
On concert day, all of the students will be staying backstage with us for the duration of the concert. Students need to have their hair done and stockings on before being dropped off.
Please drop off your child to the main doors of the Science theatre where they will meet one of our staff members.
To assist staff with smooth transitions and drop off no parents are permitted to enter the venue prior to doors opening for the event (3:15pm).
PRESCHOOLER ARRIVAL TIME: 3:00PM
Preschool students perform in the first half of the concert and can be picked up at intermission at the performer door. Students are more than welcome to watch the rest of the show on their parents laps.
SECURITY & STUDENT SAFETY
To help with student organisation and safety, all students will be put into an allocated group by our staff.
As always, the safety of our dance family is our #1 priority. On concert day all students will need to be signed in / out of security lists to gain access backstage. All backstage helpers will be issued with security passes that are required to be worn at all times. Only Malabar Dance Crew staff and registered helpers are permitted backstage. We are unable to run messages or food to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage for rehearsal and the concert.
We do this to protect the students, please respect this policy. Please try not to bring anything valuable, especially electronic devices. Mobile phones are not to be taken backstage or in the changing areas during the concert. Our studio will take no responsibility if an item is damaged, misplaced, lost or stolen.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our supervisors when you sign in so they can take medications to our first aid desk.
WHAT TO WEAR
COSTUME HIRE POLICY
Costumes are HIRED from the studio and MUST be returned at the end of the night.
All hired costumes will be taken to the venue on the concert day. No students are to take home any part of their costume at any time. Please make sure your child understands that it is important that their costume goes back in the bag labelled with their name. A fee will be charged for any costumes that are missing or damaged (most damage happens from food stains).
PRESCHOOL FINALE UNIFORMS
All preschool students participate in our finale at the end of the first half of the show. Students must be in FULL Ready Set Dance uniform. Students who purchase the concert T-shirt are welcome to wear this over the top of their Ready Set Dance uniform.
SHOES & STOCKINGS
Ready Set Ballet - Pink ballet shoes with pink ballet stockings
Ready Set Acro- No shoes, tan convertible stockings
Ready Set Dance - Tan jazz shoes with tan convertible stockings
Stockings are available for purchase at the studio in the lead up to concert.
UNDERWEAR
Please make sure your child is wearing flesh coloured underwear.
HAIR
Preschoolers will require Pig tails
You will need to use a lot of hairspray/gel and a fine tooth comb to achieve the slick look and possibly multiple elastics. Please also use an elastic the same colour as their hair.
Please note, for boys neat and tidy hair is all that is required. No colours or crazy hairstyles please.
MAKEUP
No Make up is required for our preschool students.
JEWELLERY AND NAIL POLISH
No Jewellery is to be worn (including earrings), please leave all jewellery at home. Also, please remove all nail polish.
WHAT TO BRING
FOOD & DRINK
In line with venue rules there is to be NO food in dressing rooms. Eating time will be allocated for students to have in breaks. Please bring a labelled water bottle ONLY.
PACKING CHECKLIST
It is suggested that students bring all of their belongings in a clear plastic box or bag. Please write their names all over the box / bag and on everything that they bring, every year we have so many pairs of dance shoes and uniforms lost.
Please use the following checklist:
Stockings and dance underwear - wear on arrival
Full Ready Set Dance uniform (with Concert t-shirt over the top if purchased) - wear on arrival
Dance Shoes - wear on arrival
Hair brush, extra bobby pins, hair spray, elastics
Water, water and more water!!!
Healthy snacks - long lasting nourishing food is best!
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOOGRAPHY
Your children want to see your smiling faces, not your screens!
Private videography and photography is strictly prohibited as we will have professionals attending on the day to provide these services for us leaving you free to sit back and enjoy the show & be present in the moment!
